The purpose of the Work environment and equal opportunities policy for Uppsala University is to provide a general description of what the work and study environment at the University should be characterised by, how the work environment and equal opportunities management should be carried out to achieve that, and how the responsibility for the work and study environment looks like.

The policy is based on the Work Environment Act (1977:1160), the provisions on systematic work environment management (AFS 2001:1), the provisions on organisational and social work environment (AFS 2015:4) and the Discrimination Act (2008:567).

The policy encompasses both coworkers and students.
